Sales route planning

Sales route planning that starts with account priority

A shorter drive is useful only when the route reaches the right accounts. Knockwell combines the rep's account goal and mileage limit with promises, samples, reorder timing, prospects, and relationship history to build a practical field-sales plan.

What is sales route planning?

Sales route planning decides which accounts a field rep should visit and the order in which to visit them. Unlike a generic delivery route, a sales route has to balance travel distance with commercial urgency. A nearby account may matter less than an overdue promise, a sample that needs feedback, or a customer approaching its normal reorder date.

Knockwell lets the rep choose how many accounts to reach and the maximum distance to drive. The planner ranks the day's account actions, builds a route, and makes the tradeoff visible when every requested account cannot fit inside the selected mileage limit.

From a map to a working sales day

01

Set the commitment

Choose the number of accounts to attack and a mileage limit that fits the day.

02

Prioritize the work

Balance open follow-ups, sample attention, reorder signals, new doors, and existing relationships.

03

Review the route

See which accounts fit, the planned mileage, and the impact of changing the account or distance goal.

04

Work and capture

Open the account brief, call or visit, record the result, and keep the next promise attached to the account.

Why route planning belongs inside the CRM

When mapping and CRM activity live in separate tools, the route cannot respond to new information. A completed follow-up, a buyer response, a sample conversion, or a new order should change what the rep sees next. Keeping planning and account memory together closes that loop.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers

How is a sales route different from a delivery route?

A delivery route starts with a fixed list of stops. A sales route also has to decide which accounts matter today by balancing travel with follow-ups, sample feedback, reorder timing, prospects, and relationship work.

Can a rep set a maximum driving distance?

Yes. The rep chooses an account goal and a mileage limit. Knockwell shows how many accounts fit and the tradeoff when the full goal would require more driving.

Does route planning stay connected to CRM activity?

Yes. The plan opens the same account brief used for calls, visits, follow-ups, samples, and orders, so completed field work updates the shared account timeline.
